Lecture by Nadia McKechnie

 Hello!

On December 1st, Nadia McKechnie, a Vegan advocate and head of vegan organizations here in Japan came to my university. I went to her lecture about "Veganism".

She talked about the benefit of plant-based diet. Did you know that You can eat hamburgers even if you are a vegan? Not only hamburgers, but we can also eat ramens! I had a image that vegans only eat vegetables and fruits, so I was very surprised.

She also talked about the danger of eating meat. For example, it was about the methane gas the cows produce. Global greenhouse gas are produced by cows. They produce 14.5 percent of the gas. If we don't stop consuming a great amount of cows, we won't be able to stop global warming.

I didn't know much of veganism or what meet consumption affects the environment. However, from now on I will like to be careful to what I eat and how I eat everyday.

Thank you for reading.
